Responsible Gambling
Gambling is entertainment, not income. If it stops feeling like entertainment, this page explains what to do and where to get help.
The basics
- You must be 18 or older. There are no exceptions.
- Never gamble with money you need for rent, food, bills or debts.
- Set a loss limit and a time limit before you start, not during.
- Never chase losses. Increasing stakes to recover money is how small losses become serious ones.
- Do not gamble when you are tired, angry, drunk or upset. Your decisions will be worse.
- Do not borrow money to gamble, and do not gamble to pay off debt.
Warning signs
Consider stopping if any of these apply to you:
- You gamble longer or for more money than you planned.
- You hide your gambling from family or friends.
- You gamble to escape stress, boredom or low mood.
- You borrow money, sell things or miss payments because of gambling.
- You feel anxious, irritable or depressed when you cannot gamble.
- You keep trying to stop and cannot.
Tools that exist
Most licensed operators provide the following. Ask support if you cannot find them:
- Deposit limits. A cap on how much you can deposit in a day, week or month.
- Loss limits. A cap on how much you can lose in a period.
- Session reminders. A message telling you how long you have been playing.
- Time-out. A short break during which your account is locked.
- Self-exclusion. A longer block, usually six months or more, that you cannot easily reverse.
Third-party blocking software can also block gambling sites across all your devices, which is more effective than relying on willpower alone.
Where to get help
Support is free and confidential. Search for the national gambling helpline in your country, or use an international directory. In the markets we cover, the national health and addiction services in Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Serbia and Croatia all provide free counselling, and English-language support is available through international helplines.
If you are in immediate distress, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line.
Our position
We publish information, not encouragement. We do not claim that anyone can beat the house, we do not publish predictor tools, and we do not present gambling as a way to make money. Every game carries a built-in house edge, and over time the mathematics works against the player.
